I grew up in Michigan and graduated from Kendall College of Art & Design, where I studied Graphic Design, emphasizing in Illustration. After working a few years in Michigan, I headed to Atlanta, Georgia and worked in design studios and ad agencies, working up to being an Art Director.
While working, I kept on drawing. I took pastel and life drawing classes. After I married and had kids, I still kept drawing and started to paint in watercolor. Through moves to Virginia and now, to Colorado, I continued my art work. Being an artist is just part of who I am.
I am inspired by my surroundings; the landscape, the people I see, the books I read, emotions from my kids, the way the light filters through a window, and the colors this world is made of. There are so many neat things to see in life, and when I’m in awe of it, I want to paint, draw or design it.
